A Challenge Worthy of the Drawing Room
My dear reader,
I have devised a small amusement for you, though I confess, it came about quite naturally. It seems some mischievous hand (I will not name names, but I have my suspicions) has left subtle changes scattered throughout my drawing room. Between these two images, there are four such differences, including one rather handsome blue lattice egg.
I invite you to take up the challenge. Spot all four, and leave your answers in the comments below. To make matters even more enticing, I shall personally select two participants at random to receive a $5 Amazon gift card — a small reward for sharp eyes and sharper wit.
Between us, I suspect Rockford will miss at least one of them. Prove me right, won’t you?
I shall reveal the answers once the Easter Egg Hunt concludes.
Until then, I remain,
Ewan Glenraven, Marquess of Glenraven
(From the pages of “A Marriage for the Marquess”)
P.S. Keep an eye out — you just might catch a glimpse of Rockford himself, should you look closely enough…

The blue almost Fabrege looking egg is on the table in the right picture next to the vase of flowers . The buttons on his waistcoat are different the candles have 2 on the left picture and 3 on the right there’s a book in front of the vase of flowers on the right side and not on the left and of course the blue egg is only on the right picture
Also the picture is different on the left side you just see part 1/3 of it and on the right side you see much more 3/4.
Hi Ruth! Happy Easter! Your egg is lovely – and matches Ewan’s waistcoat. Four differences I spotted are: On the right picture, there is a vase of flowers on the mantel, there’s no book on the table as on the left, an extra rose in the vase on the table on the right, and the candelabra on the mantel has 3 candles on the right versus just two on the left.
blue lattice egg, 1 additional rose in vase, button colors on blue vest are different, man with red vest has left hand out of pocket, different vase design, missing blue book
Easter egg hunt:
Different blue vest
Book on table instead of egg
Flowers on the mantle
Man in back has his hand in and out of his pocket
Good Morning, Marquess Glenraven. What a fun way to start my morning. I see that your lapel and buttons on the waistcoat are different in the images. I also see that the candles on the mantel are different. The top layer of the drapes lays differently in the two images. On the table, we see a book and oh yes, that beautiful egg. I also noticed that the images are shifted slightly so that we view more of the mantel in one and more of the window in the other one. And the bouquet of flowers is arranged differently. What a fun activity. Until we meet again.
First picture only shows half an oil painting.
First picture only shows 2 candles rather than the 3 shown in the second.
Gentleman in red shows no hands in first picture and one hand in the second.
Three large roses and one small in the vase in the first picture and four large roses in the second.
Blue Lattice Egg on the table, book on the table, buttons are a different color on the vest, vase has a one extra flower. 3 candles in wall sconce instead of 2.
mantel flowers vs no mantel flowers
vests are different
flowers count on table
book vs egg on table
His jacket buttons, the egg on the table, the flowers in the vase, the book on the table.
The four differences I see are:
1 – Blue egg vs. book on table
2 – Flower arrangement on mantle vs none
3 – Candelabra has 2 candles vs. 3
4 – Man in background has hand in pocket vs hand visable
